Family Promise
Family Promise of Sacramento is a nonprofit organization assisting low-income, homeless families in our community secure permanent housing and develop the self-sufficiency required to make homelessness less likely to occur. Family Promise keeps families together through a community-based response. B’nai Israel, with its awesome volunteers, has been a part of this support system and a host congregation for the past ten years.
As a host congregation, our volunteers perform a variety of tasks at the Family Promise Safe Haven Tiny Homes two weeks every year. These tasks may include:
- Cleaning out tiny homes for new guests
- Hosting a weekend breakfast
- Providing an arts and crafts activity for the children
- Hosting a barbecue dinner
- Performing light maintenance and gardening
This work could not be done without the generous support of donors. So if you are unable to volunteer, please consider a donation to Family Promise of Sacramento.
